Shankar’s dream project is finally taking shape and the actor if the sources are correct is none other than the Superstar Rajnikanth. Superstar Rajini is paired with none other than Deepika Padukone for Robot. Deepika made waves in bollywood with her debut movie Om Shanthi Om.
The movie Robot will be produced on a 100 crore budget by Ayngaran International and Eros Multimedia. The sucess team of Shivaji which includes Shankar, Rajini and A.R. Rahman are all set to repeat their magic again in Robot. The rest of the crew needs to be still decided. No official announcement has been made yet. The announcement is expected to be during the silver jubilee celebrations of Shivaji the boss.
This is going to be a never seen before Sci-Fi thriller for the Tamil audience.Shankar, who directed Sivaji, had initially approached Shah Rukh Khan, but the deal fell through.Many big names like Ajith Kumar and Amir Khan have also been rumoured to be associated with this movie Robot.

Chennai: After the mega-success of Sivaji, The Boss, superstar Rajinikanth is now all set for his next film tentatively titled, Robo.
Industry sources have confirmed to CNN-IBN that director Sankar and Rajinikanth have finalised their deal for Robo.
The movie is expected to take the southern superstar beyond the Vindhyas for it will be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.
Sivaji too is presently being dubbed in Hindi and sources say the success of Sivaji in the north Indian market has inspired plans for a simultaneous Hindi version for Robo.
Sources also say that Robo will be bigger and more expensive than Sivaji, which was made at a cost of close to Rs 80 crore and earned nearly Rs 100 crore.
For the moment though, the Tamil film world is all geared up for a grand celebration of Sivaji’s success on January 11.

Following the huge box-office success of ‘Sivaji-The Boss’, director Shankar has again roped in Rajnikanth for his next film, the Rs.1 billion-sci-fi film ‘Robot’.The Britain-based Ayngran International, which has distributed more than 1,500 Indian films, and Eros Multimedia, distributors of films like ‘Munnabhai MBBS’,will produce the film. It will see the sure-fire combination of Rajnikanth and A.R. Rahman with Shankar.
The film will be in three languages, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Speculation was that Shah Rukh Khan would play the lead role but now producers have confirmed it will be Rajnikanth, south India’s darling.
The cast and crew is being finalised, a release from the producers said here Monday.
Director Shankar has been dreaming of making ‘Robot’ for a long time, with a big budget.
‘Robot will be the grandest and most entertaining film ever made in Indian cinema and be produced in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and be a high-tech film with the use of the state-of-the-art technology,’ the release said.

| While speaking at the function, Super Star Rajnikanth conveyed his gratitude to the current and former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu for having watched the film on his request. He also averred that he has been extremely fortunate to have worked under AVM banner and also under director Shankar. He further went on to thank all the technicians of the film as well as his co-stars.On his future projects, he mentioned that he would be working for his mentor K Balachander’s Kavithalaya productions before he starts his mega project Robot with Shankar. He also prayed the Almighty that Robot should be as successful as Sivaji. When director Shankar spoke on Robot, he said, “As Robot required a huge budget, I considered Bollywood but it did not work out. Luckily, the success of Sivaji has revived my faith that such films can be tried out in Tamil too. As major forces like super star Rajnikanth and A R Rahman have teamed up together, I am confident that there certainly would be an encore of Sivaji magic”. | ||
